Christopher John Barnett

On September 11, 2023 after a brief illness, Christopher John Barnett, in his 71st year.
 
Survived by Sharon, his wife of 34 years; his brother Andy (Gwen), sister Jane (Ashley) and six nephews, all of England; son-in-law of Walter and Betty of Cambridge, brother-in-law of Kim (Charlie) of Woodstock. Predeceased by his parents William (Bill) and Marion of England.
 
Born in Winchester, Hampshire, England, Chris immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1982 while working for Eureka Coach.  In 1989, the company moved him to Norwalk, Ohio for the next five years.  In 1994, Chris and Sharon returned to Canada and settled in Cambridge.  Chris worked for Tenneco for 25 years as a production supervisor and after retirement, worked for Kitchener Ford.  In his younger days, Chris enjoyed active sports of skiing, windsurfing and canoeing. He mostly enjoyed camping, which he did during the week before his hospital stay and passing. Chris' quirky sense of humor will be missed.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service held on September 30th at 11am at Calvary Ayr Church,  173 Northumberland St., Ayr, Ontario.  It was Chris' wish to have his ashes returned to England and scattered with those of his parents. His wishes will be honored.
