Conrad Amos Hutchinson

1942-2024

Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Tuesday February 27th, 2024 at the age of 81 years, at Grand River Hospital- Freeport Campus in the City of Kitchener. 

Conrad was born and raised in South Porcupine, ON.  He enjoyed the outdoors hiking in the bush, hunting small game, fishing, snowshoeing, target shooting, snowmobiling and driving the Argo.  He  was a skilled iron worker and welder, spending much of his career on different remote jobs, as well as in the mining industry.  In his spare time, he liked working on vehicles and small engines.

Conrad will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Hilary Hutchinson and Susan Steenson (Donald), his grandchildren Jessie and Jake Steenson, his brothers Jack, Robert, Paul (deceased) and David, his nephews Ryan (Jillian), Mark, Johnny (Christie) and Shawn, his nieces Sherry (Ken), Jamie and nephew Paul Jr.

Many thanks to Dr. Spencer Ler and the caring staff at Freeport Palliative Care who created a warm environment and made Conrad’s final days more comfortable.  Also thanks to his family doctor, Dr. Quauum and her staff.

Cremation took place on March 1, 2024.  In keeping with Conrad’s wishes, there will not be a formal service or celebration.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand River- Freeport Campus Palliative Care as expressions sympathy.
