Derek Hugh Dawkins

1924 - 2025

In his 100th year, Derek passed peacefully of natural causes with family at his bedside. 

 Derek was pre-deceased by his wife of 74 years, Joan Thurza (nee Swinnerton) and son Chris. He will be greatly missed by his children Jeff (Carrol) and Kay, and daughter-in-law Peg. He was a loving Grandfather to Brooke, Joy, Wes, Greg, Rachel and Emma; Great-Grandfather (Grampa-Grampa) to Taylor, Zoe, James, Sofie and Abbie.  

 Derek loved to golf, sail, read and walk. He was a proud veteran of the Fleet Air Arm (Royal Navy) and led a life full of adventure and laughter. 

 No service is planned, in lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted at the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
