Dianne Therese Brenner

January 24, 1944 - February 23, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beautiful and beloved Sister, Dianne Therese Brenner, who, surrounded by her family, died peacefully at Waterloo Region Hospice on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the age of 81.  Dianne was diagnosed with aggressive Sarcoma in January, 2025.

Dianne was the beloved daughter of Henry and Irene (Bender) Brenner.  She was predeceased by her parents and her oldest brother, Francis (in infancy).

Dianne is survived by very supportive and caring family, including Elizabeth Brenner(Morris DeRuyck, deceased) of Pilot Mound, Manitoba, Richard Brenner(Diane) of Kitchener, James Brenner(Patricia) of St. Clements, Gloria Perry(George, deceased) of Paris,  Shirley Brenner(Craig Wilker) of Kitchener, Lucille Cywink(Wilfred) of Elliot Lake, Rosemary Galbraith(Dan) of Hamilton, Sharon Walsh(Spencer) of Nanaimo, B.C., George Brenner of St. Clements, and Brenda Brenner of St. Clements.

Dianne loved her family and was blessed with and will be dearly missed by 16 nieces and nephews and their spouses, and 25 great nieces and nephews.

Taken much too early, Dianne’s beam of light shone on everyone she touched.  She had a relentless zest for living and an unwavering commitment to spread love and kindness wherever she went.  Her eyes always lit up when she spoke of her career in education, from teacher to principal, and cemented many friendships with her staff, peers and students.  When she moved to a new house, Dianne always got to know her neighbours, with treats for the kids.  She also loved to sing and was a member of two different choirs, one in Elmira and one in Kitchener.  Her tireless hours of volunteer work with the Church, the Elmira Legion, the Hamilton Hospice and the less fortunate was extraordinary.

A very special thanks to the medical staff and volunteers at Waterloo Region Hospice.  It was so comforting to be able to spend quality time with Dianne knowing her care was always exceptional and stress-free.

A celebration of life will take place at St. Teresa  of Avila Church in Elmira on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00am, followed by a reception in the Church Hall.

In Dianne’s memory, donations can be made directly to Waterloo Region Hospice.
