Francois “Frank” J. Renault

1932-2024 

With a saddened heart, we share that Frank passed away after a brief illness at the age of 92.

Beloved husband of 67 years to Helen. Loving father to his three children, Denis Renault, Sylvie Huntley (Thomas), Richard Renault.  Nurturing Grandpa to Stephanie Munten-Chisholm (Johnathan), Amanda Munten (James Owen), and Step-Grandpa to Gwen Chappell. 

Predeceased by his brothers Andre and Jean, and so many other family members and friends. 

With profound sadness, we share that his beautiful daughter-in-law, Janie Renault (wife of Richard), also passed away on the same day. We can only imagine the reunion that took place in Heaven. 

Everyone who spent time with Frank, would know around every corner, there would be an interesting story to share, and always with a beer or a glass of wine.  With each story, there would be a historical significance to his life. From growing up, and causing trouble with his brothers in Old Quebec City, to antics in the RCAF, to golf and hockey stories, or from his long career at Allstate Insurance, he had an unlimited collection of stories to share. He loved people, and his stories reflected that. Right up until Frank left this world, he had a captive audience of Nurses to tell his stories to. And that’s something to smile about. 

A very special thank you to the nurses and support team at Grand River Hospital, 5th Floor South. Your compassionate care given to Frank and Janie at the same time will never be forgotten. The kindness and empathy shown to both families during this emotional time demonstrates the care that you have for patients and their families. 

Cremation has taken place, and the family wishes to celebrate Frank’s legacy privately.
