Helen Francis Lidstone (nee Whitelaw)
Our Loss is Heaven's Gain.
Tuesday March 21 our Mom went home to Glory. Moms brief stay at Freeport Hospital was a blessing with the finest care by compassionate staff as they walked us through our sad time.
Mom was born and raised in Preston as the youngest of 11 children. Mom and Dad accepted the Lord at the age of 24 years after the birth of their first child Donny. Their desire to serve the Lord was a beautiful example of 2 lives that were changed forever. Mom was a homemaker and we were lucky to have such a loving supportive set of parents.
Music was a big thing in our home and Mom loved her music, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. While in the hospital Mom brightened when the kids gathered for songs at her bedside and scripture reading. Mom’s mind was sharp as she sang along and her face showed her love for her children. Among the many important roles that our mother had in our lives, we will miss most her ministry of prayer. We lost the family prayer warrior.
“Her children rise up and call her blessed.” We love you and will miss you, Mom.
Helen was predeceased by her Husband Roy Lidstone (2011) and her two children Donny (1960) and daughter Gail (1962). Mom will be missed by Gary(Kim), Susan (Craig), Donna (Andrew), and Terry (Dawn). 14 Grandchildren: Daniel(Grace), Krista, Sarah (Nathan) Breanne, Kailee, Jessica(Corey), Brandon (Bethany), Ashlyn Brooke, and Nicholas. 11 Great Grandchildren: Bea, Ever, Cabot, William, Thomas, Ellis, Wells, Parker, Desmond, Walker, Brynleigh.
