John Clifton
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Clifton, age 88, on May 18th at Lisaard House following a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife Brenda and is also in the hearts of his three daughters, Jenny (Gary), Christine (Steve) and Susan as well as his 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
John will also be missed by his brother, Terence and the rest of his extended UK family including Mary, nephews and nieces Paul, Terence Jr., John, Dominique, Therese and Rachel as well as his great nieces and great nephews.
Anyone that knew John knew that he dearly loved his family and friends. John cherished the time he spent with his companion dogs, especially Parkie.
He was very active throughout his life and had a passion for gardening, racquet sports and all of God’s creatures, especially birds. He was a life long devoted fan of the Aston Villa Football Team, through all their “Ups and Downs.”
A casual Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 11/23 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Riverside Park in Cambridge, at the Dolph Picnic area. Friends and neighbours are welcome to come join our family to celebrate a life well lived.
As expressions of sympathy, the family would greatly appreciate memorial donations made to Lisaard House or the Humane Society.
Our family would like to acknowledge the Staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital as well as the Staff and Volunteers that provided such compassionate care to John at Lisaard House.
