Lyle Rueben Clark
Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest LTC, Waterloo on Thursday June 22, 2023 at the age of 92 years.
Born in Hespeler, Ontario on May 6th, 1931, Lyle was raised in Breslau where, as a young man he worked in the family business manufacturing hockey sticks, baseball bats, water skis and other wood products. He was a scratch golfer and member of the Galt Country Club winning multiple local and club championships. Lyle also played Junior hockey for the Hespeler Shamrocks in the early 1950s. Lyle loved to fish, play horseshoes and RVs. With Lyle at the wheel, the family traveled coast to coast to coast across North America in the family motor home across every province and many US States.
Professionally Lyle had many talents. Primarily as a land developer, commercial real estate agent and later in life, his passion for woodworking, cabinetry and countertops allowed him to work well into his 80s.
Lyle was a dedicated husband and best friend to Dorothy (nee Winter) who were married on October 27, 1951 (over 71 years). He was a proud and loving father to three sons: Jay (Tami), Jeff (Claudia) and Greg (Cindy). Cherished “Poppa” to Kris, Alex, Vanessa, Avery, Jackson, Sophie, Abby, and proud great grandfather of Charlie.
Lyle was the dear brother of Jack Clark of Cambridge and predeceased by brothers Bob, Al (Harold) and sister Ethel. Predeceased by his parents John Clark and Maria Clark (Parsons) of Breslau
