Maret Ene Talpak
1955-2024
It is with profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Maret at Grand River Hospital on Sunday July 7th, 2024 at the age of 68 years.
Maret was born and raised in Toronto to parents Herbert and Vilma ( nee Oad) Talpak. Beloved life partner of William “Bill” Patterson together for over 40 years. She is the cherished sister of Ingrid Talpak ( Bob Sikora) and predeceased by her sister Piret Talpak (2019) and by her brother Karl Talpak (2022). Proud Aunt of Mark and Sabrina Sikora.
She attended Vincent Massey Collegiate and entered into the workforce selling new homes for a developer. Then moving to the floorcovering industry with promotions rising eventually to become an Administrator of a large corporation. She later returned to real estate sales prior to her retirement.
Her many interests and hobbies include love of gardening and flowers. Joy and appreciation of symphony and classical music. Fluent in Estonian learned through her childhood. Love of fishing and the outdoors. She enjoyed cooking and sewing along with crochet and needlework. Her passion for reading books, exploring many subjects, author’s and current events. She delighted engaging in conversation and sharing viewpoints. Her love of animals including her two cats Oscar and Pickles.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Maret's life will be held on Sunday August 18th, 2024 from 1- 3 pm at the Rope Factory Event Hall, 25 Sherwood Drive Brantford with a classical ensemble tribute beginning at 1:30. Light lunch and refreshments available.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maret’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy.
