Marjorie Larocque
1934-2025
We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Marjorie Larocque of Kitchener on February 24, 2025 at the age of 90. She passed away peacefully at Cambridge Country Manor with family by her side. Beloved wife of 74 years to Bill, who predeceased her in 2021. Mom lived independently afterwards until a fall in April 2024, resulting in a fractured hip. This marked the beginning of her declining health.
Marjorie is survived by her sons Donald (Patti) and Gary, and daughters Sandra and Tracey. Predeceased by son Edgar. She is also survived by siblings Bonnie and Kaye. Predeceased by parents Frank and Ivy Banks, sister Lil and brothers Harold, Gerald and Donald. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Mom was primarily a stay-at-home mother who always had a dog or two at her side. Of course, we as kids, drove her bonkers at times. In earlier years she made her own clothes and travelled occasionally throughout her life. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching game shows, cooking and of course, having family “tea time” (coffee break and conversation) every afternoon. Mom was a warm, kind, friendly, caring person who loved her family above all and was smiling right to the end.
We wish to sincerely thank the staff of Cambridge Country Manor for their care and compassion they gave mom during her stay.
As per Marjorie’s wishes, there will be no funeral or service. Cremation has taken place with internment in the future. In lieu of flowers, please take a few quiet moments of your day to remember Marjorie and reflect on how she affected your personal life.
