Shane Jeremiah Drover
Shane Jeremiah Drover, 42, passed away far too young on June 16th 2017, after a lengthy battle with cancer, while surrounded by his loving family at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener ON.
Born on January 21st, 1975, in Grand Falls-Windsor, NFLD, Shane grew up and eventually moved to the mainland and settled in Ontario where he met the love of his life and soul mate, Janis, whom he married on February 1 2011. Shane was a faithful employee of Danby Products in Guelph ON for over 10 years.
Shane was a fishing nut! He was a walking infomercial for all things fishing including his love of bass kayak fishing. Shane had a passion for woodworking and was an avid collector of Ridgid tools to support his habit. But nothing held his attention more than his family, especially spending time with his grandson Connor, whom he loved with all his heart. Connor brought much joy to Shane's life as he walked his cancer journey.
Shane is survived by his wife Janis, children Cherisa and Ayden, grandsons Connor and Shane "Ti" (due later in June 2017), all of Waterloo ON, parents Leslie and Jessie of Grand Falls-Windsor, NFLD, sister Deana (Anton) of Calgary, brothers Lester (Pam) of Hamilton ON, Corey and Alan of Grand Falls-Windsor, NFLD, brother in law, James of Fergus, ON, and special friends, Drea and Charlie of Simcoe ON. Shane is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces spread across the country.
Special thanks to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Dr. Gregory Knight, Dr. Pierre Fortin, Dr. Judges, and Dr. Andemichael as well as the caring staff of the Palliative Care ward at Freeport Hospital. Many thanks to Dianne and Heather from Care Partners.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Shane's memory to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre in Kitchener ON.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday June 23rd 2017 at 6:00pm at 307B Mayview Crescent in Waterloo.
