Yu Kang Gong

(4 May 1937 - 4 January 2023)

Yu Kang Gong was born on 4 May 1937, the nineth child of Ze Ren Gong and Ze Qi Gong. Her birthplace was the village of Fudong, Rong County Sichuang province of China. Her father worked as a teacher with very little income to raise his whole family. However she had her happy childhood in those days, she had very good relationship with her playmates.

Graduated from Qing Hai Teachers College, she started her career as a math teacher at Qing Hai Art school in Qing Hai province. In early of 1960s, she met Zong Yin Fan who was her high school classmate, in Xining city of Qing Hai province, from that time then, they kept in touch using mails, and married in 1961. Since her husband's company in Taigu city of Sanxin province, she changed her profession career as a civic engineer assistant so that they were able to stay together. She retired in 1991 as a civic engineer.

She was a person who cared about others. She took care of her grandson during her daughter studied computer science in Canada. With her help, her daughter was able to finish her bachelor degree in two years, and find a profession job as a software developer in Canada. Then she lived with her daughter and became a Canadian resident in 2008. She passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital on January 4, 2024, at the age of 87 years old.

She took elementary education very serious, so she taught her grandson with bringing primary school math books from China. I, as her daughter, am glad my son has good math foundation because of that early age education.

She liked indoor plants, her favorious plants were aglaia odorata, jasmine and rose, there were a little nice fragrant around our room when the flowers blooming.

Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
