Carol Ann Heath
1941-2024
Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House Hospice on Tuesday January 2, 2024, at the age of 82 years.
“All aboard for Tignish, rotten potatoes and stinky fish, all aboard” All of us who know Carol know that she was singing that phrase as she peacefully passed away surrounded by beloved friends.
Carol was born on December 31, 1941, to Bill and Frances (Speedy) Carvell and was raised in the small railroad town of McAdam, New Brunswick. She was the third child of five siblings. She graduated from McAdam High School. Carol had the yearning for adventure even from a young age; that desire carried through her life. She moved west to Kitchener, Ontario which is where she stayed and called home for the rest of her life; working within various office positions in administrative, bookkeeping and accounting. She travelled back to New Brunswick frequently to visit her family.
Beyond what Carol accomplished professionally her true passion was people. She grew and fostered a massive network of friends, family, and friends who were like family. She collected them like treasured keepsakes similar to the ones she acquired from her travels all around the world. Carol referred to her people as “Carol’s crew”. She could strike up a conversation with a stranger and in no time become lifelong friends.
Carol was a lifelong traveler and made friends in various countries, some of whom she has met while venturing off the beaten path, and some of these people have become lifelong friends. Carol also developed these same friendships from the activities that she enjoyed attending within her community.
Carol was predeceased by her parents William and Frances (Speedy) Carvell. Leaving behind Roy (Phyllis) Carvell, Arlene (Frank) Poirier, Irma (Carvell) Vance and Reg Munn, Gary (Debbie) Carvell; nieces and nephews and a growing crew of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Also left behind her dear friend and companion Brian Saunders, and many other special friends who loved her dearly and who value and treasure the memories that they have of her.
At Carol’s request a cremation has taken place. Her friends will be holding a Celebration of Life at the Polish Legion, 601 Wellington St N, Kitchener on January 27, 2024, from 1pm –4pm. All are welcome to attend to celebrate the life of Carol Heath.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lisaard House, as expressions of sympathy.
