Charles Edwin Nichols

1961 – 2024 

Passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital on Wednesday April 17, 2024 at the age of 63 years.

Charles was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His family moved to Stratford Ontario when he was a young teen. In his late teens he moved to Kitchener where he spent the rest of his living days.  Charles’ entire life was about advocacy.  He pushed past all fears to lend his voice to the voiceless. Those with disability issues, poverty and homelessness. Those stuck in the margins.  He was passionate about Making Awareness and his Mission was to eradicate homelessness.  May his Dream come true!

Beloved son of the late Rita Nichols ( nee Mowery) and William Nichols who was in the Canadian Navy.  Charles will be sadly missed by his friends and colleagues

Predeceased by his parents and brother James ( Jimmy) Nichols who passed in the 1990’s.

Cremation has taken place as per his request.  A Celebration of Life will be held Friday May 10th, 2024 at The Social Development Centre Waterloo Region , 23 Water St. N. Kitchener ( enter off Duke St. ) from  5- 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Social Development Centre of Waterloo Region as expressions of sympathy.
