Charles Thomas Evans

After a courageous 3-year battle with cancer, Charlie passed peacefully at Innisfree House, surrounded by his family on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Born and raised in Guelph and moved to Kitchener in his early 20’s.  Worked for City of Kitchener and City of Waterloo for 45 + years. Heffner Motors for the last 18 years as a shuttle driver. Enjoyed spending time at the trailer over the years., bowling, horseracing. Loved to go on cruises and playing pool. Always enjoyed being George’s navigator anywhere they went.

Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee McMahon) who he married May 15th, 1987.

Loving father of late Patricia “Trish” Zehr (2022), Debbie Evans, Brad Evans, Cheryl Gameson (Todd), Sharon Danahy (Scotty) and Brian Danahy (Patti).

Cherished Papa of Taylor (Kaitlyn) and Braedon Zehr; Jordan, Megan (Travis) and Ryan Barney; Amber, Chelsea and Brianne Evans; Cassandra, Jessica and Rebecca Herzing (Josh); Tyler (Tasha), Richard, Jade, Sean and Clover Danahy; Chantelle, Kyrina , Tanaya, and Taylum  Danahy. And 3 great grandchildren.

Dear brother of Irene Miller, Douglas Evans (Norma) and Donald Evans (Marianne).

Brother in-law of Rose (Bernard), Lawrence (June), Clair, Ann, Mike (Maureen), Frances, Tommy (Noreen), Colleen (George) and Elaine.

Predeceased by his parents, Susan and James Evans and his siblings Matilda, James, Clarence, Fredrick, Shirley, Betty, Lloyd and Butch.  Mother-in-Law Doris and father-in-law Lorne. Brother and sister In laws Hugh, Gary (Patty), Pat, Brian, Dale, Bill, Sharon, and Dennis.

At his request, cremation will take place.  A private family gathering will to be held at a later date.

Many thanks to the staff at Innisfree House for your support and love during this difficult time. Heartfelt thank you to the cancer clinic at Grand River Hospital and Dr. Martin and Dr. Grassik and Link care nurses.
