Clayton “Bert” Bertram Moores

1934-2024 

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Thursday March 14, 2024 in his 90th year.

He was the son of Clifford and Amelia Moores and was born in Silverdale Nfld. His family moved to Windsor, where he met Pearl Sheppard when he was 11 years age.  Pearl remembers her first sighting of Bert arguing with his brother Joe about bringing in the firewood and that’s when the sparks began. They were together for many years until they married over 70 years ago, on January 23, 1954.  

They have 5 children;  Diana Lewis (Lloyd),  Lloyd Moores,  Maxine Moores and Marilyn Payne and by a daughter Sylvia who passed at the age of 2. Those 5 children gave them 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grand-daughter.

He leaves behind his sister Eileen Mercer. 

Predeceased by his parents, a brother Joe Moores and a sister Marie Budgell.

At his request, cremation will take place and his family will have a private family gathering at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario as expressions of sympathy.
