Dorothe Wolf

1943 – 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothe Wolf on Monday July 22nd, 2024 at the age of 80 years at Parkwood Mennonite Home LTC.

Dorothe, beloved wife of the late Ernst Franz Wolf (2013), dedicated and loving mother of Theresa Wolf of Los Angeles, and the late Christine Wolf of Kitchener (2016), is deeply missed. Dorothe was the cherished grandmother of Lauren, Luc, and Cole Wolf-Laderoute of Kitchener, and dear sister of Ellen Diehl of St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Ursel (“Uschie”) Borner of Kreuztal, and Henning Kessler of Kiel. She will also be dearly missed by her close friends Eva Holomek of Waterloo and Eileen Caccavelli of St Agatha.

Dorothe was born on October 15th, to Emil and Herta Kessler of Oberkirchen, Germany. She began her nursing career at the US military base in Wiesbaden, then journeyed to Canada where she married her husband Ernst on January 24th, 1970, in Kitchener. She continued her career at Sunnyside Home LTC in Kitchener, eventually retiring from Grand River Hospital in Kitchener. 

Dorothe will be remembered fondly as the loving and supportive wife, the cheerful and spunky mom, the hardworking and compassionate nurse, and the sharp-witted and loyal friend.

Cremation has taken place. A private scattering ceremony will be held at a location on Georgian Bay that holds many warm and happy family memories.
