Douglas Alan Rogers
With heavy hearts we announce that Douglas Alan Rogers passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023 at the age of 79.
Al was a hardworking and devoted family man. After retiring from his long career as a truck driver, he devoted his time and his loving heart to all his family and friends. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, attending car racing events & building things with his sons, and going on road trips with his wife.
Al’s deep love for his wife of 15 years, Carol Tomkins and his late wife of 35 years, Julia-Anne Rogers, brought together a large family who loved him dearly. His memory will be forever cherished by his children Rick (Kim) and Rob (Leslie) Rogers; stepchildren Crystal, Brittany (Chance), and Mike (Steph) Tomkins; grandchildren Jay, Cassandra (Dylan), Joshua, Julia, Sebastian (Emma), Austin (Shannon), Benjamin, Brooklyn, Skylar, Jaxson, Winter, Landon, Alexia, Scarlett; and great-grandchildren Hunter, Athena, and Raven. Al’s fatherly guidance and friendship will be missed by close brother-in-law Bruce (Jill) Joyce.
Always up for a visit and a laugh, Al will be deeply missed by all his many siblings and their spouses, long-term friends Heidi (Paul) Biesinger, and all his nieces and nephews who affectionately called him Uncle Al.
Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) would be appreciated by the family.
