Eleanor White (nee Desmond)

1933-2025 

It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor White (nee Desmond), announce her passing, peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the age of 91. 

Eleanor, born in Weston, beloved wife and best friend to her love, Arthur White.  They were married for more than 72 years.

Loving mother of Tammie (David), Debbie and Peter (Brenda).  Dear and loving Grandmother (Nani) to Matthew (Megan), Sarah (Jeremy), Ashley (Brandon), Emily (Chris) and Brian (Cassandra) and loving great grandmother to Riley, Tyler, Rayne, Reeve, Jack, Adelaide, Sloan and Kayd! 

Eleanor was a vibrant, caring and loving person who lived with such grace and elegance throughout her life!  Her home was warm, welcoming and impeccable. Eleanor loved music and had a beautiful voice. She sang proudly in the Etobicoke Centennial choir as well as with her sisters upon request at many family gatherings over the years!  

Eleanor had a compassionate heart and loved animals, especially all the family pets. 

She loved shopping and spoiling her family with gifts, wrapping everything to perfection as a show of love on any occasion, especially Christmas time.

She had the brightest blue eyes; a beautiful smile and her laugh was truly infectious!  

Eleanor was the kindest, most loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could wish for, and she adored her family with her whole heart. 

She is free of pain now and flying high with the angels. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be missed beyond words.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada as expressions of sympathy.
