Encarnacion “Cani” Pantoja-Aleman
1935- 2025
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family at PeopleCare, Hilltop Manor, Cambridge on Thursday January 16, 2025 in her 90th year.
Cani was born in Alicante, Spain. Pre-Civil War Spain was a turbulent time, so her father, a renowned sculptor, moved his family to Uruguay after the war, there as a young woman she met her future husband, started a family and lived for many years. Like her father and others in the family she loved art and had many artistic hobbies, drawing and painting, but her favourites were handicrafts and knitting. They moved to Spain and after her eldest son passed away, they then moved to Canada to be near their youngest son. They found many old friends from Spain and Uruguay living in Toronto, which made the transition easier, and they were happy in their third and final home for many years.
Beloved wife of the late Jose Luis Perdigon who predeceased in 2008. They were married for over 40 years.
Loving Mother of Alejandro “Alex” Perdigon and mother-in-law of Diana Lillo.
Cherished Grandmother of Celia and Erika.
Proud great grandmother of Danilo.
Dear sister of Maruja Pantoja (deceased) and Andrea Pantoja of Spain
Predeceased by her parents Agustin Pantoja and Prudencia Aleman
