Franco (Frank) Belfiore
October 24, 1958 - November 15, 2024
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Frank Belfiore, at the Lisaard House Hospice in Cambridge, Ontario on November 15, 2024. Frank is survived by his wife of 44 years (Susan) Jennifer Belfiore (nee Osborn) and son (James) Jamie Belfiore (Diana). Grandpa B to Liberty, Charlotte, Ryan and Lucas. Frank will be deeply missed by his sisters Nina, Mary and his brother Joe and their families, as well as extended family and many close friends. Predeceased by his father Guiseppe and mother Maria (nee Adamo) who both immigrated from Vita, Sicily, Italy.
Frank was born and grew up in Toronto and after the untimely death of his father when just a teenager, he left school to help support his family. He was a hard worker who excelled at every job he held. He loved math, making lists and solving the Rubik's Cube. He loved board games and card games, was always the banker when playing Monopoly, and kept score meticulously. Outside of work, when he was still able to, Frank enjoyed refereeing with the Ontario Ball Hockey Association and spent many hours in arenas helping youth. He had a unique sense of humour and would always help anyone when asked. He was empathetic and would give you a hug when you needed it. Frank claimed to dislike cats but, in fact, cuddled several special boys that he referred to as his “bodyguards”. Jellybean will miss Frank very much.
Cremation has taken place. As per Frank's wishes there is no service. Family/friends are invited to attend a public general service with other families celebrating their loved one that will be conducted at Island Lake Conservation's Memorial Forest in Orangeville in the afternoon on the second Sunday in September of 2025. A memorial leaf will be affixed to a memory fence with Frank's name along the forest trail and a tree will be planted and dedicated in Frank's honour.
Donations can be made to Lisaard House Hospice or your local Humane Society.
Frank said "I am the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be” and he was!
