Gilbert H. Howe

1947 – 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gilbert Howe at Cambridge Memorial hospital on February 12, 2025.

Born in Paisley, Scotland on September 20, 1947 and came to Canada on November 22, 1956.

He was a loving husband and friend of 56 years to his wife Judy Howe (Yust), a doting father to his daughter Donna Howe (Paul), a super grandfather to Morgan Howe (Rachel), Justine Mancebo, Josh Mancebo and cherished great-grandfather of Carter and Raya Howe. He had a special bond with his sister, Angela Howe of Kitchener, who will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by his many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Margaret Howe (Rowand) and a brother Robert.

He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and enjoyed wearing his kilt in parades. During his years he worked as a business manager and then finally as a real estate agent for Cambridge Re-Max. He enjoyed telling stories about Scotland to his grandchildren while sharing a shot of scotch. He was an avid card player of solo and bridge and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, including Grand Knight, helping to build their new hall in Preston.

We want to thank the ICU staff and doctors for the special care he received and their amazing kindness and helpfulness to our family.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family burial. There will be no visitation.
