Heike Gibson (nee Berndt)

Passed away at Grand River Hospital on Wednesday November 1, 2023 at the age of 72 years.

Heike was a well established hairdresser and barber for over fifty years in the Waterloo Region with a loyal client base. She was exceptionally good at her craft and her jovial personality won her the hearts of her customers. Heike had a passionate affection for dogs, she loved quiet times while enjoying a good book and appreciated a good road trip. She always had a soft spot for Germany, her country of birth, and returned on a number of occasions to reconnect with her roots.

She is survived by her daughter Tanya Antaya, her grandchildren, Darian (Cody) , Jade and Nolan Antaya. Sister of Ilke (Rob) Schwartz, Anke (Mario) Berndt, Ketta (Russ) Robertson. Predeceased by her parents Dietrich and Waltraut Berndt.

As per Heike's wishes, she has been cremated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society as expressions of sympathy.
