Julie (Julia) Grant

In Loving Memory of Julie (Julia) Grant, born April 6th 1942.

It is with heavy hearts that the Grant family announces the passing of their beloved Julie on Monday November 6th. Julie, who battled courageously against COPD, found peace in the loving embrace of her daughters, Beverley, Karen, and granddaughter Ashley.

Julie, born in Coventry, England in 1942, embarked on a remarkable journey when she and her devoted husband of 62 years, Ian (John) Grant, emigrated to Cambridge with their daughters in 1977. Together, they built a life filled with resilience, love, and cherished memories, surmounting every obstacle in their path.

Her legacy is one of warmth and unwavering affection. Julie’s daughters, sons-in-law Brian and Eric, and her grandchildren Scott (Charlotte), Ashley (Tyler), Nicholas (Madeline), Liam (Isabella), David, Laura, Louise, and Lyndsay, will forever carry her love in their hearts. Julie’s brother, Howard, and the family pups Rio and Annie also mourn her loss.

Julie’s home was not just a place; it was a haven of love and creativity. Her sewing skills were unmatched, and her gardens flourished under her care until her last summer. Through her passion for decor, she turned their house into a beautiful, welcoming home.

Music, dancing, and their travel adventures were a source of joy for Julie and Ian. Their love for life mirrored their profound love for each other. Her generosity and compassion knew no bounds, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The Grant family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who stood by Julie’s side over the years, especially during her final days. Sue and Steve Robinson, Carla Mc Cracken, Dr. Celine Sandor, Nurse Rodin Mahmoodi, NP Yvonne, Jillian Howard, and the exceptional personal support workers who provided unwavering support and care.

Julie’s spirit lives on through the love she shared and the gratitude she embodied. Family was her world, and her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Julie’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Julie will be deeply missed, but her love and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts.
