With hearts heavy and filled with profound love, we must share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Helen Mae Benninger.

Helen passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Age Care West Williams in Kitchener in her 93rd year.

She was a radiant beacon of warmth and love in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Helen leaves behind her loving children daughter Wendy (Michael) Loree, daughter Heather Benninger, and son Steven Benninger. Helen also leaves behind her beloved fur baby poodle Tessa, her steadfast companion

Helen’s loving spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her treasured grandchildren. Adrian (Karyn) Loree, Stephanie (Morgan) Henderson, Amanda (Wayne) Jacques, Michelle (Pat) Taylor Downes, Dorian (Taylor) Benninger, and Jahzara-Aaliyah Ssennyonjo.

Helen found joy in her seven great grandchildren, known as GiGi to Finnegan, Vaughn, Oaklen, Rhoenin, Dot, Lillian, and Vanessa.

She is survived by her beloved sister Ruth Paepcke, nephew Bruce (Sylvia) Paepcke and their daughter Victoria.

Predeceased by parents Edward and Violet Ludwig, brother Ken Ludwig, brother-in-law Howard Paepcke, nephew Scott Paepcke, and Donald Benninger.

Helen was born and raised in Kitchener. When she married, she moved to a farm in the Maryhill area where she raised her family. She worked for Keybrand Foods in Kitchener for many years in the offices.

In her retirement Helen moved to Elliot Lake where she spent the best years of her life living on the lake with John Jack (Papa John). Helen’s love of peaceful moments by the water both in Elliot Lake and later in Goderich will be remembered by all who know her.

Helen’s pastimes included decorating, crocheting, and watching game shows. She had a passion for gardening which stemmed from her love of nature and spending time outdoors. She loved long country drives through small towns. In the Christmas season her favorite holiday, she loved driving at night looking at the pretty lights.

She was a longtime fan of Kitchener Rangers and the Blue Jays and spent many fun hours watching her favorite teams. Family time was important to Helen, and she cherished time spent with family always.

Helen had a strong faith in God throughout her life that was unwavering. This faith guided her life. May her luminous spirit continue to inspire us to live each day with love kindness and grace.

Rest in Eternal Peace, Helen Mae Benninger.

You will be forever missed.

A special thank you to Kiwi Ssennyonjo for always helping Helen. Also, a special thank you to the caring staff at Age Care West Williams.
