Louis Joseph Oliver
December 31 1926-June 4, 2024
It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our wonderful father and grandfather. He has finally gone to meet his beautiful wife, Eileen who predeceased him Dec 21, 2021. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage together.
Born Louis Joseph Oliver , he was one of eight children. He was a new year's baby born 2 minutes before midnight. Dad and mom were married Aug 2, 1952 after dating for five years and went on to have four children. Trudy (Bob), Judy (Terry), Rudy (Michelle), Louie.
Grandfather to five generations. Left to mourn him are his children and one brother, Donald Oliver (Pearl).
He loved watching the national hockey and baseball leagues. After retiring he took up cooking and painting which he loved, along with testing the waters with his new computer.
He would go to the Cambridge Mall daily and enjoyed coffee with friends and purchasing his news paper and lottery tickets. He would have a monthly hair cut with his favorite barber Tony.
He is predeceased by his parents Louis Joseph Oliver SR. and Caroline Georgina Oliver (Hackertt) and six siblings.
Special thanks to Fairview Mennonite Home for their ongoing support and the Quality Care he received. from the floor nursing staff, PSW's, recreation staff, etc. A very special thank you to Dr Parker who was so caring and compassionate. The Clergy staff for their spiritual support. This list is endless.
At Louis's request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a later date.
