Marjorie Britton Protheroe
1925 - 2024
Passed away peacefully at University Gates on Monday February 19th, 2024, at the age of 98, with family by her side.
Beloved wife of the late Harvey Frederick Protheroe (2001).
As a young woman in the early 1940’s Mardie left her family home in Turo Nova Scotia to attend business school in Toronto. She met Harvey and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Loving mother of her late son, Scott; Anna and her husband Bob; Robb; Deidre and her husband Gregg; Krista and her husband Drew.
Missed by nine grandchildren, Lara and husband Luckas; Eric, Charles, Thomas and wife Tanya; Jacqueline and husband James; Christopher, Ryan, Vanessa and husband Will; Cameron and girlfriend Taryn. And three great grandchildren, Lilha, Kaiden, and Tristan.
Dear Sister to Patty, Charles, Bobby, Florance.
Mardie enjoyed many talents of sewing, needlepoint backing and endless sweaters of beautiful style. She was known as the “Sweater Lady.”
She put a smile on everyone’s face with her colorful and sparkly outfits, coordinated from head to toe.
A force all her life, she appreciated the little joys of life such as a cold beer and fine chocolates.
Cremation has taken place. A private / Celebration of Life will take place a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and or local humane society as expressions of sympathy.
