Mary Sharon Linda MacDonald

A light went out on Friday March 8, 2024, as we said good-bye to Sharon.  Her spirit peacefully left her body, and her active mind is at rest. 

Sharon leaves behind her family and children Brock (Lisa), Kathleen, and beloved grandson TJ, the light of her life. Her sisters mourn her loss – Debbie Klein, Kelly MacDonald (Mike Bigelli), and Stephanie Mancini (Joe), nieces and nephews Christina, Rebecca, Thomas, Brendon, Alex, Adam, Neil, and Ryan (deceased), as well as the many members of the Kennedy clan. Sharon welcomed everyone into her home and heart, and had many adopted family members, people she welcomed and cared for over many years. She was generous, playful, and loved her sports. She could talk to everyone, everywhere, and built connections wherever she went.

She felt deeply the loss of her dear friend and husband Steve Kennedy and her parents Ronald and Vicki MacDonald, who were her anchor. 

Sharon made friends wherever she went, she remembered people and details; she knew the lives of the sports personalities she watched; and she cherished and helped to build a life for and with her children.  Brock, Lisa and Kathy joined her as they created a strong family together, making TJ one of the best-loved children. 

Special mention to Gill Elliott and Charlotte who helped to walk Kathy through the very fast and intense last days for Sharon.  Sharon knew that she was approaching the end of life as her body started to shut down, and her innocence and purity of spirit shone through in this time. 

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Working Centre as expressions of sympathy.
