Norman Edwin Pettifer

1940-2024

Passed away peacefully at Heritage House in St. Jacobs on Wednesday August 7, 2024, at the age of 83 years.

Born October 29, 1940, in Guelph Ontario. The eldest of 5 brothers. He had left school in grade 8 to work full-time to support his ailing parents and the family. A longtime member of Scouts and Rovers. Served as a reservist with the 11th Field Artillery Regiment. He had worked at the Foundry in Guelph, and Matthews-Wells (the Pickle Factory), where he met his future wife, Sharon Wilkinson. In 2005, after 30+ years he retired from W. C. Wood’s. Among his many interests, he was an avid photographer, woodworker and handyman, and had wine making down to a science. Always known for his telling of jokes, being very sociable, and a very generous, helping person.

Beloved husband of the late Sharon E. Wilkinson (2023), they were married on July 16, 1966, for 57 wonderful years. 

He is the loving father of Norman A. Pettifer and Veronica L. Pettifer and the cherished grandfather of Saxen Pettifer-Rosauro

Cremation will take place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date with an interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau.
