Norman James Bullock
June 14, 2023 - Norman’s Day of Triumph
On Wednesday June 14th, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Norman James Bullock went home to his Saviour to live in Glory, just shy of his 87th birthday.
Norman met Marilynne, his bride, at Toronto Bible College and they were married on August 29th, 1959. They had 63 wonderful years together. He was a loving father of Scott and Cheryl, Jason and Katherine, Jeremy and Nichole, Noel and Nadine. Beloved grandfather of Graham, Sawyer and Beka, Isaiah, Reid, and Khethiwe, Ryan and Jeffery and Jackie, Andrew and Sarah, Paul and Sandra, Joseph, and Rose and Mason, Rachael, Zach, and Nathan. Dear brother of Carol and Cecil Murphy. Brother-in-law to Mary Hancock. Loved by many nieces and nephews and fondly remembered by many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Helen and Joseph Powell, and Bill Bullock, his siblings Barbara and Harold Micks, Alvira and Bruce South, and in-laws Margaret Ellen (Nellie) and Bill Hancock Sr., and Doug Inkster, Bill Hancock, Janice and Verne Leonard, Beverley Hancock, Dougal and Nancy Inkster.
Norman was a passionate, God-loving, and well-respected minister in the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec. He will be fondly remembered by the congregations in Hamilton, London, Petrolia, Kitchener, Stayner, and several interim churches. He is leaving behind many dear, dear friends in each church. He was well-spoken, well-read, and a fount of knowledge in Theology and History - a unique combination of practical pastor and history academic who taught at the University of Guelph while working towards his Ph.D.
His family wishes to thank all his thoughtful family and friends who lovingly supported him through the years, and especially in his time of illness. A special thank you to the wonderful medical teams at St. Mary’s and Grand River Hospitals. A funeral will be held at Glen Acres Baptist Church on Monday, June 19th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
He will be lovingly held close to our hearts.
