Paula Joanne DeRoo

It is with great sadness we wish to share the passing of Paula Joanne De Roo at the age of 57. She was born in Strathroy on September 12 1966 and passed away in Kitchener on Saturday October 28, 2023. She is predeceased by her parents Hilbert and Henny De Roo and niece Erika Vander Hoek.

As the youngest child in the family of eight she never lacked attention and in fact revelled in it. She grew up in Strathroy and had an active childhood enjoying camping, playing board games and participating in sporting activities as well as cheering for her beloved Maple Leafs and Blue Jays.  She was an active member of the East Christian Reformed Church. Later in life she moved to Kitchener with her sister Linda and then moved to Nithview Home in New Hamburg.

She will be sadly missed by her siblings Mary (Jack), Tilda (Syd), Jim (Reine), Harry (Elaine),Judy(Greg), Ron (Sonja) and Linda as well numerous nephews and nieces.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Nithview LTC Home in New Hamburg and Dr. Leigh Day and the Fourth Floor staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener for their tender and compassionate care.
