Ronald Arthur Craig
1942-2024
Passed away peacefully on Friday January 26th at the age of 81.
Survived by his wife Pauline (nee Aultman), daughter Alanna (Patrick), son Neil (Lauralee), and daughter Melanie (Jason). Proud “papa” to Daniel, Adeline, Malachy, Amelia, and Evelynn. Ron is also survived by his siblings Jim (Shirley), Sandi, and Ian. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Pearl Craig and sister Jean (and her late husband Gus).
Ron was born on July 18th, 1942 in Truro, Nova Scotia. The family later moved to Wawa, Ontario. Eventually, Ron settled and raised his family in Kitchener/Waterloo. He worked almost his whole life in the automotive industry (with Marsland Engineering, Uniroyal & B.F. Goodrich). In retirement, Dad was happy to take care of the dogs, watch a Toronto Maple Leafs or Blue Jays game, and listen to his personal pocket radio. He loved celebrating family get-togethers and really enjoyed a good board game like Stock Ticker or Euchre.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy in Ron’s memory will be celebrated at Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church (Waterloo) on Saturday, February 3rd at 11:00 A.M. A reception will follow in the Church Hall.
The family would like to thank the Critical Care Team at Grand River Hospital (especially the I.C.U nurses) for their compassionate care of Ron in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations made in Ron’s memory to the Grand River Hospital Foundation-Emergency and Critical Care, your local humane society, or a charity of your choice.
