Theodozia (Dozia) Rudensky

Nov 14. 1947 (Goslar, Germany) – Sept 9, 2023 (Waterloo, Ontario)

Slipped away peacefully after a brave struggle with cancer, leaving behind her devoted husband of 32 years, Tony Arndt whom she met through their mutual interest in Tai Chi. Loved by older sister Tania MacNeil, younger brother Ihor (Myra Kostiw) and by many cousins in Canada, US and Ukraine.

Predeceased by her parents Theofil and Olga (nee Onyschuk) Rudensky.

In her early years Dozia was a Ukrainian Scout leader in PLAST, St. Catharines, Ontario. Dozia earned her PhD in Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Waterloo in 1981 where she lectured and supervised chemistry labs until her retirement. Her dedication to both her University and Tai Chi students was appreciated by many. She was not only analytical but also artistic. Her many talents extended to knitting, beadwork, jewellery and stained glass. She was also an avid gardener and loved to cook.

We will miss her physical presence but will never forget how she lived her life humbly, honestly, honourably and with respect for all.

If you wish to honour Dozia’s memory, kindly make a donation to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation towards Humanitarian or Surgical Aid in Ukraine.

Messages and condolences may be left for the family at www.trictycremations.com or 519.772.1237. Please visit Dozia's obituary notice on Facebook.
