Aleida (Alice) Hendricka Willemsen

Passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, at Hospice Waterloo Region, Ontario at the age of 91 years.

Mother of Herman (Paula Jeffs), Bruce (Heather Logan), and Alan (Tania Harper). Proud Oma of Daniel and Heather.

Predeceased by her husband Maarten, parents Willemina and Hermanul Wissink, and her siblings.

Mom became a nurse in Holland where she met Dad, married and immigrated to Canada in 1960.  She raised three active boys.  Mom enjoyed exploring Canada with Dad during retirement.  She loved flowers, especially tulips, and spent her days reading and doing puzzles. She also enjoyed learning and playing the piano later in life, and classical music. She loved spending time with family and a good meal out.

Cremation has taken place. As per Alice’s wishes, there will be no formal memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Hospice Waterloo Region for the care they provided in her last days would be appreciated by the family.
