Judith Elaine Voll

May 22nd, 1951 – August 29, 2024

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Judith Elaine Voll on Thursday, August 29th at Lisaard House Hospice in Cambridge, Ontario surrounded by love and family after a brief illness. Judi was the loving mother of Brent Hunt (Annalisa) and Jonathon Hunt (Jaime). She will be sorely missed by her granddaughter Scarlett and her grandsons Carson and Niall.

Judi was the daughter of the late Elaine Voll and James Voll. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Joan Young–Goldstein (Mel), James Voll (Connie) and Doug Voll, her sister-in-law Cathy and her many nieces, nephews and extended families.

Judi was born on May 22, 1951, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario. She spent her childhood growing up on Limerick Rd. in Cambridge (Preston). As a young child she attended St. Clement’s Catholic elementary school, then on to St. Mary’s High School and Preston High School.  She graduated from Waterloo Lutheran University (renamed Wilfred Laurier) in 1972 and then Teachers College in 1973. Judi always had a love for school and so becoming a teacher was her clear pathway and vocation. She began teaching with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board in 1974 and taught at many schools including St. Michael, St. Joseph and St. Ambrose – all in Cambridge. She was a mentor to many young teachers, which has been evident in recent weeks as many have reached out to give thanks for her kindness and support.

Judi has been blessed with many cherished friendships over the years. She was so fortunate to travel extensively in her retirement and spent much time scrapbooking and making beautiful hand-made cards that she shared so generously with friends and family. She loved to paint, plant and tend to her beautiful gardens and take care of her cats and birds. She spent many years supporting and volunteering her time with Kiwanis Kitchener-Waterloo and took particular interest in supporting their bursary program.

Judi’s greatest love was being a Nana – she spent many days and nights with her granddaughter Scarlett – always playful and generous with her time and love. She scrapbooked every year of her life. She was overjoyed with later having Carson and Niall in her life and shared her love with many children she cared for as her own.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at Quarry House: 377 George Street North, Cambridge in Riverwalk on Sunday, September 29th 1 – 4 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lung Cancer Canada in Judi’s name or Lisaard House Hospice in Cambridge.

Special thanks to all those involved in care especially to the loving staff of Lisaard House.

Messages and condolences may be left at www.tricitycremations.com. Please visit Judi’s obituary notice on Facebook.
