Alexander Bertram Silbernagel

1947-2025

Passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, at Lisaard House in Cambridge, at the age of 77.

Beloved husband of Anna Mae Silbernagel. Loving father of Owen, Dawn (Jamie) and Perry (Julia).   Cherished grandpa of Hailey (Aron), Zachary, Emily, Draven, Bodie, Ayva, and great grandson Beau.

Dear brother of Charlie (passed 2019) Philip John (passed 1956), Darlene, Raymond, Karen, and Victoria.

Predeceased by his parents Eileen Mary Kaufman and John Bertram Silbernagel.

Alec grew up in Saskatchewan until the 70s, when he was asked to open a retail store in Ontario until its closure. He eventually started working at Brauns bicycle and became main builder and worked there for over 20 years until his retirement. He was an Airplane enthusiast and could guess what plane was flying overhead without even looking up. He loved collecting stamps and making hook rugs for hobbies. He was an avid goer at Kitchener blues fest and loved blues music along with 50s/60s/70s rock. He loved to read science fiction, western and fantasy books. His favorite movies were John Wayne movies. 

 Cremation has taken place. As per Alec’s wishes, there will be no formal memorial service. A celebration of life will be announced for the summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lisaard House or a local hospice would be appreciated by the family.
