Diana June Nowak
1942 – 2024
Diana June Nowak nee Wiltshire passed comfortably with her family by her side at Waterloo Hospice on February 15, 2024. She was in her 82 year. Diana is survived by Robert, the man she spent her life loving, her husband & best friend of almost 60 years.
Diana was fiercely proud of her two nurse daughters Kylie & Tamara. Kylie Nowak of Meaford & Tamara Nowak Lennard with husband David of Barrie. She was the loving Oma to Anna & Jack. Mom was the heart of her family & will be greatly missed. She will be missed by her cat Newphie.
Diana was born October 21, 1942 in Toronto to Barbara Wiltshire (nee Freeburn). She is survived by her younger brother Gerry (Gerald) Wiltshire & his wife Nancy; Robert’s brother Heinz Nowak & his wife Gerda. She will be fondly remembered by her two nephews & two nieces & their families. She will also be missed by the Wunsch family of Germany: Ralf, Silke, Karina, Teresa and Fabio.
Diana spent most of her life in KW with a 10 year family journey to Grey Bruce Counties to live in the country. Here she was an active member of the Women’s Institute & led 4H clubs for many years. Diana was also one of the founding members of the Lioness Club of Elmwood. When she returned to Kitchener she worked at St Mary’s Hospital & retired after 13 years of service. She is remembered for her cooking & family dinners; Christmas baking and for stopping to chat with anyone who was willing to chat back. Robert & Diana have been active members of the Concordia Club for the past 40 years & surrounded themselves with club friends, service & club activities. Diana will be remembered for supporting & promoting her husband’s German heritage with her family & friends.
The family would like to express tremendous gratitude to the Palliative Home Care Team #7 and Hospice Waterloo for their quality care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Waterloo as expressions of sympathy.
