Donald James Wightman

1935- 2025

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday March 20th, 2025, at the age of 89 years.

Don was born in Listowel, Ontario. He worked for the Campbell Soup Company for 30+ years. Many nights were spent at the Listowel and Molesworth Bowling Lanes. Don was also an avid train enthusiast both model and life sized. Don spent many cold mornings and warm afternoons watching his grandsons play both hockey and baseball. He did not like to miss any of their games.

Beloved husband of Jenny Wightman (nee Runhart) who were married for over 61 years.

Loving father of Jeff Wightman (Cindy) of Kitchener and Melaney Logan (Lloyd Logan) of Peterborough.

Cherished grandfather of Noah Wightman (Arianna) of Guelph and Reid Wightman of Kitchener.

Uncle to Robert Holmes and sister Jennifer Holmes of Nova Scotia.

Predeceased by his parents; James and Janie Viola (nee Campbell) of Listowel and his sister Phylis Holmes, her husband Courtney (Bud) of Nova Scotia. As well as their daughter Jane Bleakney and her husband Austin.

Cremation has taken place.  A Private Family gathering was held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
