Garnet Daniel Harold King
April 4, 1974 – October 30, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Garnet King at Hospice of Waterloo on Wednesday October 30th at the age of 50 years. After a 6-month fight with Glioblastoma, Garnet’s valiant battle with the disease, and the immense pain that accompanied it, is over. May his soul find peace and solace in the next life, free of suffering.
Born and raised in Kitchener where he made his impact within the community through the various clinics and fundraisers he ran through his time working as the front shop manager for Rexall. His passion for running and cycling as a means to living a healthy lifestyle was inspiring to many. He lived life fully and positively everyday no matter what challenges arose.
He is lovingly missed by his son Jamie, his daughter Racquell and her partner Wade, who all strive to carry on his memory as they walk through life without his support, guidance, and love. Cherished brother of Jennifer, who holds their childhood memories close to heart. Predeceased by his devoted wife Rhia of 27 years, who will forever and always love him as the strong, kind man she fell in love with after immigrating from the Philippines. Predeceased by his wonderful mother Betty Lou, who will always hold a special place in her heart and her memories of her happy, energetic little boy. His charm and humor live on in spirit with his dog Bailey, as he continues to remind the family of love and provides motivation to move forward through these difficult times.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in late November at the family’s home.
