Glen Spark

1970-2025

Our family’s hearts are broken and lives forever changed. Surrounded by his family, on January 22, 2025, Glen Gordon Spark, 54, passed away peacefully following a brave battle with cancer.

Glen was a loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, a wonderful friend, colleague, mentor and many other things. We are so grateful for the calm, love and kindness he brought to this world.

Glen is survived by his wife and love of his life, Crystal (Brown), three amazing children, Jade, Jett and Onyx and his sweet dog Mavis.

He was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Liz, niece Sophia and brother-in-law Scott.

He will be forever loved by his sister Shelley; brother Clint; sister in-law Tracy; mother-in-law Brenda; father-in-law David; brother-in-law Chadd and brother-in-law Sergio; nieces and nephews Noah, Megan, Mason, Kate, Alex, Brie and Will. He will be forever missed by all his aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and friends.

Glen was a proud, loving and dedicated father and husband. He led by example, teaching his children to pursue their dreams, work hard, love and support each other. His strong sense of family and his unwavering love for Crystal, Jade, Jett and Onyx left an enduring legacy.

Known for his bright, infectious smile and boundless energy, Glen had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His ties to Kitchener Waterloo ran deep, having grown up there and stayed in the same home he was raised. He was an avid sportsman, excelling in soccer and hockey in his youth. He carried this passion into his career, designing programs, creating products and developing patents, including the Regional and National hockey leagues. He is also very well known for his logo SWOGG, which he was so proud of. Glen will be remembered for being a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and how much he loved coaching his children’s soccer and hockey teams and watching them play. It gave him the greatest joy. He adored his dog Mavis, loved playing ball with her and going on walks. She gave him so much love, peace and comfort.

Glen will live forever in our hearts, in the space around us, in the stories that we tell, the memories we share and in the smiles and laughter that follow. He was brilliant, loving, patient, brave, strong, passionate and had the kindest heart. Glen made our world a better place.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Grand River Hospital in the ICU and on the 5th floor for their kind support and compassionate care, treating Glen with utmost respect and dignity.
