Iosif “Joe” Kucza

1946-2025

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Wednesday January 22, 2025 at the age of 78 years.

A Transylvanian Hungarian born September in 1946 and raised in Sepsiszentgyorgy, Romania beside the Carpathian Mountains. He was proud to become an electrician, graduated in 1968 in Romania. He was very artistic and made many lamps. He was featured in many Newspapers and Museums across Hungary and Romania to promote his art. He also invented a “Quick Chiller” machine that cooled your drinks in seconds.

He immigrated to Toronto to start a new life with his wife and child. He began his career working on planes at De Havilland Canada. He then moved to Kitchener where he was a service technician for over 15 years at Sears Canada. Joe took many trips around the globe by himself and with his family. He enjoyed taking his sons to Disney World, many times they drove.

Loving father of Matyas (Sherri), Tamas (Alicia). Amazing grandpa to his twin grandchildren he adored, Ava and Sky. Older brother Imre (Gabi and children.)

We want to say thank you to the amazing Dr. Trussler and the Doctors and Nurses we trusted to care for Joe. You were all exceptional for taking care of Joe in his last days of life.

Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be to Freeport Hospital as expressions of sympathy.
